Major US Tourist Attractions to Reopen

17/10/2013

Major tourist attractions in the USA are due to reopen imminently after congress reached a deal to raise the debt limit and reopen Federal government.

When the government shutdown began on 1 October tourist attractions run by government workers, including Smithsonian Institute Museums and National Parks such as the Statue of Liberty, Alcatraz and Yosemite were closed to all visitors.

Its great news for tourists heading to the US that these popular attractions will now be reopened.

If you are travelling to the USA it's important to have travel insurance in place before you leave home.

Medical care in the USA is of a very high quality, but it is also very expensive; the average cost for a medical claim in the USA last year was over £7000. The cost of a comprehensive travel insurance policy pales into insignificance of compared to the potential cost of emergency medical treatment in the USA if you are uninsured.
