Honeymooners advised Mexico is a romantic destination

11/08/2008

Honeymooning couples have been advised that Mexico is a "romantic" destination for love birds to take a break by one expert this week.

According to holiday publication Luxury travel magazine while Los Cabos and Baja California offer couples the chance to take part in a range of adventure pursuits, Oaxaca and Chiapas are up-and-coming locations for those seeking something new.

Editor of Luxury travel magazine, Alyson Cook said: "I think Mexico is seen as a romantic destination for the UK luxury market."

She explained that a romantic break away now often involves more than lounging around on a good beach.

"People want adventure and once in a lifetime experiences, so they will go to 'newer' destinations like Oaxaca, Queretaro and Chiapas" Ms Cook noted.

The Lonely Planet travel guide says Mexico is "a traveller's paradise" brimming with different landscapes from deserts and snow-capped volcanoes to warm beaches.

Mexico has a population of 106.5 million, its capital is Mexico City and its official language is Spanish.
