The Foreign Office has added some additional pages to their website focussing on gap year travel abroad. The site contains the latest advice and tips on taking a year out. Other helpful advice includes information on initial planning and researching destinations to advice on working abroad.

Gap years have become increasingly popular over the last 20 years with a quarter of a million school leavers thought to take a gap year prior to going to university.
