If you have a travel insurance policy with insurewithease.com and you have received medical treatment abroad, you can contact us to make a claim for medication or hospital charges.

Check out the information below before you travel so that you are more prepared if you need to seek medical treatment abroad. There are steps you will need to take while you are away in order to make a claim.

Making a claim for medical treatment abroad

• Pay for any routine procedures on the spot and claim the money back on your return to the UK
• If your medical treatment is likely to exceed £250 or the equivalent in local currency, you must notify our 24 hour emergency support service.
• Keep hold of receipts that the doctor or pharmacist gives you - you will need to send them to us to prove that you have received medical treatment
• If your condition is serious and you are admitted to hospital, call the Insurewithease.com 24 hour emergency assistance line. You will find the number in your policy booklet.
• Get a letter from the hospital stating the dates you were admitted
• If you are in an accident involving a third party that results in medical treatment, make sure you get their details. Photograph any evidence that might support your claim
• Keep evidence of your travel dates, such as a flight ticket or confirmation email of your booking. This will prove that the medical treatment you received coincided with your holiday dates
• Be prepared to produce evidence of your medical history if it is relevant to the medical treatment you have received
• Only send original documents to support your claim for medical treatment - photocopies will not accepted
