Ski insurance tips

  • Choose the right level of cancellation cover

When you are choosing ski insurance make sure that you get the right level of cancellation cover for your ski holiday. Insurewithease.com offers three levels of ski insurance cover, Silver, Gold and Platinum, which offer cancellation cover from £1000 per person to £7500 per person.

Ski holidays are not cheap and you should make sure you the cancellation cover included in your ski insurance policy reflects the cost of your ski holiday. If you're driving down to the alps for a self catering ski trip, our silver ski insurance, with up to £1000 per person cancellation cover may be sufficient, however if your ski holiday involves staying in a luxury catered chalet, you might want to consider our Gold ski insurance or Platinum ski insurance which have higher levels of cancellation cover.

  • Buy ski insurance as soon as you've booked your holiday

To get the maximum benefit of the cancellation cover included in your ski insurance policy, you should buy ski insurance as soon as you've booked your ski holiday. If you don't the buy ski insurance straight away the money you have invested in that ski holiday is at risk. , If you become ill a few weeks before your holiday and are forced to cancel, having ski insurance in place would enable you to make a claim to recoup the cost of the holiday. If you haven't bought your ski insurance yet you would simply lose the money.

Ski and Snowboard Safety Tips

A report from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) highlighted that as many as 1 in 5 British skiers are hitting the slopes every year without ski insurance. Skiing without ski insurance cover could result in high medical bills in the event of an accident on the slopes.

As a result the FCO have issued a ski and snowboard checklist to help skiers prepare for a winter sports holiday. It's no surprise that buying ski insurance is top of the list. Ski insurance should be the first thing you buy once you have booked your holiday.

Check out our Ski and Snowboard Checklist for more tips on preparing for your ski holiday.

Sarah Findlay, Marketing Manager at insurewithease.com says, Ski trips are great fun, but you do need to consider your safety on the slopes, from wearing a crash helmet to buying appropriate ski insurance. Accidents do happen and if you don't have adequate ski insurance you could find yourself footing the bill for medical costs after an accident.
