Virgin Airways announces new waiting lounge

24/10/2007

Holidaymakers flying with Virgin Airways from Gatwick Airport are set to benefit from the addition of a new airport lounge as of next spring.

The V Room has three areas, each of which will be designated separately for kids, adults or families.

Kids will be able to play on video games and access the internet, while fluffy toys and a play area is on offer in the families area to keep very young children amused.

Meanwhile, the adult zone has been designed as an oasis of quiet from the stresses of air travel, with space to read a newspaper and surf the internet.

Virgin Holidays managing director Amanda Wills commented: "Our customers know that they always get more on a Virgin Holiday and V Room, the first lounge of its kind to be opened by a tour operator, is yet another 'extra' that separates us from the competition.

"We listen to all our customers, and they are varied. That's why V Room's entertainment offering has been carefully thought out to cater for them all, from toddlers to grandparents."

The area also features a café serving food free of charge.
