Travel to airport is "most stressful part of holidays"

01/11/2007

Travelling to the airport is one of the most of stress-inducing facets of travel, it has been revealed.

According to figures from a poll by coach and train travel firm National Express, one in five Britons regard the trip from the city in which they live to the airport as more fraught with dread than the flight itself.

Moreover, travelling to the airport is seen as more stressful than making sure the house is secured properly and remembering to take passports and plane tickets.

News of the survey comes as National Express today launched its executive shuttle service called Dot2Dot.

The service runs between Heathrow and Gatwick airports and hotels in the centre of London, with tickets priced £17.50 per person one-way.

Paul Whitfield, managing director of National Express, said: "We use the latest technology to make sure we know the best way to and from the airport at all times.

"We also have access to London's bus lanes - unlike minicabs or friends and family giving travellers a lift to the airport - so we can promise a speedy and convenient airport transfer that will leave the rest of the traffic standing."
