New short-haul flights from BA

28/11/2007

British Airways has announced a raft of new short-haul flight routes to destinations in Europe.

As of March next year, the carrier will be offering flights from Heathrow to Malaga and from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunis.

Also to be added are routes to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Nice and Warsaw from London City Airport, the carrier confirmed

Robert Boyle, commercial director at British Airways, said: "We are opening up these Mediterranean hotspots with our new flights and are confident that, with our full onboard service and low prices, they will be very popular with customers.

"BA Cityflyer's operation at London City airport continues to go from strength to strength and from next summer will operate to nine destinations in the UK and Europe."

The carrier has however also announced the suspension of its flights to London City to Milan as well as those from Gatwick to Aberdeen, Nice, Prague, Reykjavik and Split.
