New routes to Cork

08/10/2007

Ryanair is to launch two new cheap flight routes to Cork this December.

The Irish low cost carrier will operative a daily service from the East Midlands and Glasgow as of December 13th.

The additional flights will bring the number of Ryanair-operated routes for air travel to Cork rise to six.

Ryanair, head of communications Peter Sherrard said: “We are delighted to announce these two new daily flights to East Midlands and Glasgow from Cork. This expansion will see Ryanair carry over one million passengers on its six routes from Cork in 2008.”

News of the new routes comes as Ryanair recently announced a series of modifications to its operations as part of what it has described as an “October revolution.”

Among the changes will the addition of 70 new routes and the opening of a new Ryanair base at Belfast International Airport.

Mr Sherrard said that the new routes will “offer Europe's lowest fares to over five million additional passengers next year and will provide a massive boost to tourism across Europe”.
