New breaks for adventurous families

16/09/2009

Families with plenty of get-up-and-go are being offered five new trips from The Adventure Company to South Africa, Costa Rice Egypt India and Austria.

The travel firm's new brochure highlights the suitability of all of its 70 trips for children, though families must make sure their holiday insurance covers them for some of the activities included in the new trips, including white water rafting and hiking around volcanoes.

The eight-day Cycling in Austria itinerary includes the chance to try rafting, tobogganing and summer skiing, some of which may need additional cover to that provided by standard holiday insurance.

The 14-day Kruger and Beyond Teen Adventure includes kayaking and snorkelling and hiking in the Blyde River Canyon; again, families should check their holiday insurance to check they have the right level of cover.

Even more exotic, the 15-day Hands On Adventure trip to Costa Rica allows families to participate in a conservation or community project for two to three days, including spending time working at a turtle conservation project.

There will also be an opportunity to explore the rainforests and go white water rafting and hiking around the active Arenal Volcano ? but take care as rafting may be considered an extreme sport by holiday insurance so you may need extra cover.

Insurewithease Gold cover holiday insurance offers free cover for children under 18. The Adventure Company is offering an early booking discount of £50 per person to the first 100 people who book before December 20 for selected trips departing in 2010.

Families who book selected trips will be entered into a prize draw to win back the cost of a child's place.
