Ferrari World under construction on Abu Dhabis Yas Island

24/06/2010

Due to open in October 2010 in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World will set new worldwide theme park standards. Once completed, Ferrari World will be the biggest indoor theme park of its kind, housing the fastest rollercoaster in the world.

Ferrari World will combine traditional theme park fun with an insider's look into the workings of Ferraris. Ferrari World has been designed to be suitable for adults and children alike.

Formula Rossa, Ferrari World's spectacular rollercoaster, will reach speeds of 149mph. It's designed to simulate the speed that Formula 1 racers experience while they are out on the track. Formula Rossa will accelerate from 0 to 60 in two seconds and soar to a height of 52 metres, and due to the immense speed, riders will have to wear safety goggles.

For a slower ride, visitors can hop into a 1957 250 California Spider to explore Bell'Italia. Bell'Italia will be a picturesque, mini Italy, filled with cobbled streets and famous landmarks. It will also be possible to walk around Bell'Italia.

Children will be well catered for at Ferrari World, as a number of kid's rides will be available.

Aspiring race car drivers will enjoy the Ferrari simulators, and there will even be a driving school offering top notch tuition. Ferrari World will house dining venues for all tastes, including fine cuisine and bargain bites. There will also be the chance to pick up Ferrari memorabilia, souvenirs and Ferrari fashion.

Getting to Ferrari World should be a doddle - Yas Island is just ten minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport. There are also seven hotels to choose from on Yas Island and over 2,000 rooms available.

If you are planning a trip to Abu Dhabi, don't forget to buy comprehensive travel insurance. Remember that UAE laws and customs differ wildly to those in the UK. The United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country where drinking alcohol and kissing in public is illegal. Research their laws thoroughly before you travel and you shouldn't have any problems while you are away.
