Dreaming of a Holiday? There are Glimmers of Hope!

21/04/2020

If the lockdown is making you long for the time when you can go on holiday again, there are some glimmers of hope appearing as tour operators and airlines start to accept bookings again.

With some great deals up for grabs for the autumn and winter, now could be a good time to start browsing and booking a holiday.   Afterall, having something to look forward to could help you stay positive through these difficult times.

Airlines announce when they plan to fly again

Jet2 and Ryanair have announced that they plan to start flying again from 17 June.
Whilst some experts are predicting that early autumn (September and October) is more realistic and could be a great time to think about going away.

Mark Hall, Director of Product at TUI UK says customers could be jetting off by early Autumn, with Florida and the Canaries being popular destinations.

Special offers for later this year

Easyjet Holidays, First Choice and TUI are amongst the travel providers who have some great deals on offer for autumn and winter holidays.  Why not have a look and see what inspires you?

Book with an ABTA or ATOL bonded travel provider

Obviously the dates that flights and holidays will recommence will be kept constantly under review because no-one can go anywhere until the Government advice changes.

But, if you book a holiday that is covered by the package travel regulations, you will be entitled to a full refund or an alternative holiday if the operator has to cancel the trip.

We recommend you check what protection is in place with the travel provider before you book.

Travel insurance for your trip

Of course, if you are booking a holiday, it is a good idea to buy your travel insurance straight away.

Insurewithease.com are currently selling policies for trips starting after 17 May. And like many of the tour operators we are also being flexible.

If you need to change your trip, on the provision that no claims have been submitted against the policy, we can change the dates of your single trip insurance to a new trip anytime up to December 2021;

  • If the new trip is the same destination and duration, there will be no charge.
  • If the new trip is for a longer period or a different destination, there may be an additional charge to cover this.

Please note.  Our policies will not provide any cover whilst the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is advising against all but essential travel.  If you purchase a policy for later in the year, cover will commence instantly when the FCO travel ban is lifted.
