Holiday Travel Insurance

The Holiday season is coming up and it's supposed to be fun and relaxing, but more often than not it can be completely stressful. With bad winter weather, travel and Christmas shopping queues it's hardly the season to be jolly.

Nevertheless, by taking all the necessary precautions and making all the required preparations you can ease into the winter holiday more peacefully.

To help you achieve this, we want to wish you season's greetings and give you some of those last minute reminders and tips to make your life hopefully that little bit less stressful.

If you're going on a winter holiday, make sure you have your holiday travel insurance or family travel insurance in place. With potential airport delays and weather alerts it's essential to make sure you're well covered in advance of your trip. In addition, if you're taking Christmas presents away with you, then make sure you have accounted for this in your holiday insurance. If they're lost, damaged or stolen, at least you can claim on your policy for them.

If you're travelling to your holiday location by plane, then plan well ahead and make sure you're at the airport in good time for your flight. Once you're there you can relax, do a little airport shopping, and have the opportunity to choose where you'll be sitting on the plane.

With regards to the actual flight, make sure you take the necessary travel comforts you need without carrying too much -

  • a good book
  • music
  • travel pillow
  • eye mask
  • sweets and/or savories
  • deodorant or toiletries

It's also important to think about what to wear to travel in. If you're leaving a winter climate and travelling to a sunny holiday destination, be sure to wear layers that way you can take off easily when you hit the heat wave. This way you'll be far more comfortable during your transfer to your hotel.

Equally, if you're heading to a cold winter destination, be sure to keep your winter coat and scarf easily accessible so you can wrap up straight away when you get into the cold.

It really pays to travel in the most relaxing and stress free way possible. Ease yourself into your winter break so that you can enjoy it to the full. Give yourself peace of mind by ensuring you take out the necessary holiday travel insurance to cover you if the need arises - for delays, lost luggage, or if you need medical attention whilst you're away.

But most of all enjoy your well deserved winter holiday, and come back de-stressed, refreshed and ready for the New Year.
