Two new flight routes launched from London Luton Airport

25/03/2008

Two new flight routes have been launched from London Luton Airport this month.

Low-cost airline easyJet is now operating flights from the hub to Pisa and Jersey and says that it expects to carry 100,000 passengers on each of these routes in the next 12 months.

Flights between Luton and Jersey will operate daily, with the price of a one-way ticket starting at £21.99, including taxes.

David Osborne, easyJet's UK general manager, said: "Jersey is home to a stunning coastline for the water sports enthusiasts and the main street is a shopper's delight, where duty free is plentiful."

Flights to Pisa will begin at £23.99 one way including taxes and the route will also operate on a daily basis.

Mr Osborne added: "Pisa boasts not just the legendary leaning tower, but also several other attractions, and is a perfect gateway to the stunning region of Tuscany and the nearby city of Florence."

In related news, tour operator Thomas Cook's Money Matters report has revealed this month that 12 per cent of people who travel overseas do so without insurance.
