A third of Brits admit they are more likely to take risks while away on holiday than at home, but those who injure themselves while behaving foolishly or illegally may find they won't be covered by their travel insurance.
According to a recent survey of 2,000 adults, many indulge in all-day drinking sessions, suffer severe sunburn and enjoy holiday romances during trips abroad.
Some blame the heady mixture of booze, sun and a holiday atmosphere for their random behaviour, while others said they feel they can 'do whatever they like' while on a foreign holiday.
More than 1 in 10 young people in the travelsupermarket.com survey admitted to having unprotected sex on holiday, saying that they felt nothing bad would happen while they were away.
But those who break the law or have an accident while drunk may invalidate their travel insurance, meaning they won't be able to claim back the cost of medical bills or repatriation.
According to the survey, men are bigger risk takers than women, with 40% admitting to acting foolishly when away compared to only 29% of women. Men under 30 are the most prepared to take risks on holiday.
