More business class flights between US and Singapore launched

Singapore Airlines is upping its volume of business class flights between Singapore and US destinations, New York and Los Angeles.

In order to increase the number of business class seats on offer, the airline is converting its five Airbus A340-500 aircraft into an all-business class configuration.

Currently, the aircraft feature a two-class, 181 seat arrangement, which will be replaced with 100 new business class seats, in a four-a-breast layout.

"The new business class service is being very well-received by our customers on long-range flights," said Mr Huang Cheng Eng, vice president of marketing and regions for Singapore Airlines.

"The peak demand for the non-stop flights is from our business class customers, and this change will expand business class capacity from 64 to 100 seats on each flight."

Earlier this week, London City Airport announced it is set to join the UK's list of top 500 business brands.

The business airport is to be named a 'superbrand', which will see it ranked alongside other major brands, such as British Airways and Air France.
