Couples planning to be among the first to get married on flights will be relieved to know that complete protection for everything from their rings to their wedding photos can be included in their holiday insurance.

Budget airline easyJet is planning to be the first airline to have weddings onboard. It claims that there is time to squeeze in a service even on its short hops to Europe.

The airline is planning for pilots to officiate during the onboard marriages, though easyJet has not yet got the legal go-ahead to organise wedding ceremonies.

At the moment, British marriages can be held only in licensed buildings that are unmoving, permanent structures, which definitely rules out weddings in mid-air.

If easyJet does succeed in its quest to play cupid, its onboard weddings are expected to appeal to cost-conscious couples as well as those seeking a novel wedding location. True to form, the airline is planning to offer budget ceremonies starting from as little as £30.

Insurewithease offers couples who marry outside the UK complete cover for their wedding. Wedding cover is included in all annual multi-trip policies or it can be added to any Gold insurance policy for an additional fee.
