Foreign Office warns of need for travel insurance for new flights to Tel Aviv

Budget airline easyJet is launching cut-price flights from London to Tel Aviv, which should halve the cost of flying to the Israeli capital. Affordable holiday insurance for trips to the Middle East is available from insurewithease.
EasyJet's service, starting in November will run 6 times a week. Fares will start at a little under £72 one way, which the airline claims is half that of the airlines already serving the route.
Though beset with political problems, the coastal city is renowned for its lively café culture, buzzing night scene and good shopping. Its old quarter is popular with tourists and the city, which celebrated its 100th anniversary earlier this year, is well-placed for day trips to other parts of the country.
Rival airlines already operating flights from the UK to Tel Aviv are British Airways, BMI and Israeli carrier El Al. Easyjet's flights will operate from Luton Airport.
The Foreign Office warns that there is 'a high threat from terrorism' in Israel, but there is no ban on travel to the country. It does say, however, that visitors should obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling, though most policies exclude acts of terrorism.
