Brit travellers increasingly booking hotels late
Britons are increasingly leaving it late to book hotel rooms, new research has shown.
According to figures from Laterooms.com, over half of its bookings are made within three days of a customer's stay.
Meanwhile, on Saturdays, travellers are prepared to wait even longer, with one-fifth of customers booking a room for their trip on the same day.
Tony Walsh, development director at Laterooms.com, attributes the trend to growing familiarity with the deals available when booking online.
He said: "Customers are opting to delay booking hotel arrangements later than we’ve seen before.
"Now, we are seeing more users feeling comfortable enough to book the day they want to travel. I think this shows more familiarity and trust with the online booking industry."
In anticipation of that the habit of late booking will continue to be more prevalent, Laterooms.com has launched a new mobile seat which allows customers to book a room up to midnight for arrival the same day.

Number of Brits taking holidays abroad fell dramatically in 2009
