Bookings for summer caravan holidays are 'doing very well'

11/02/2008

Summer bookings for caravan holidays are already "very, very buoyant" with more Britons opting for the cost effective holiday, according to an expert.

The Caravan Club said that there were some good mid-week deals where a family of four can stay in on a club site for about £30 per night.

Nikki Nichol, head of PR at the Caravan Club, said that families who spend thousands of pounds on a holiday should "take that money and buy a second-hand caravan".

She also said that there was not one destination that stood out a favourite amongst caravanners.

"People really want to visit our sites in the UK, whether it is going out to the countryside, a city centre break or a holiday by the sea, there is something for everybody."

Hitched.com, a wedding website, recently said that many honeymooners were opting to stay in the UK and go to destinations like the Lake District or the Cotswolds.
