Despite the profusion of cheap deals for last minute travel, booking your summer holiday in January remains the best time to secure the best value deals, it has been claimed.
According to personal finance guru Martin Bamford, the best deals are still available for those who book early - despite the profusion of seemingly keenly priced last minute deals which have garnered so much press attention.
He explained: "Sun seekers looking to save hundreds of pounds on their summer holidays should seriously consider booking their break during the month of January.
"Tour operators offer a multitude of deals to holidaymakers booking early, including free children's places, discounted adult's places and there could even be nil or a low deposit to pay as well as significant percentage discounts."
Mr Bamford also cautioned against last minute deals on the grounds that they frequently offer buyers no choice over time of travel as well as from whence they depart.
