More flights to Turkey and North Africa
Holidaymakers planning to put together their own trips to Turkey, Egypt, Morocco or Tunisia - all of which fall outside the eurozone and offer great value for money for family holidays - will have more flights to choose from this summer following a big increase in services from both the charter airlines and the low-cost carriers.
Thomson Airways has new flights to Antalya on Turkey's Mediterranean coast from Bournemouth, Cardiff, Doncaster and Glasgow and also a new flight to Bodrum from Bournemouth.
Monarch has added new flights to Dalaman on the Turquoise Coast from Birmingham and Luton and flights to Bodrum on the Aegean Coast from Luton plus flights to Antalya from Manchester.
Thomas Cook Airlines has new flights to Antalya from Aberdeen and Leeds Bradford, and to Dalaman from Aberdeen. It will also fly for the first time from Newcastle Airport to Izmir on the North Aegean Coast.
Easyjet, which currently flies from London to Istanbul, will launch flights from Stansted to Bodrum and Dalaman in May and from Bristol to Bodrum and Dalaman in mid July.
From April 30, easyJet will have a new flight from Manchester to Egypt's popular Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheik; Thomas Cook Airlines will launch flights to Sharm from Leeds Bradford and Stansted and Thomson will launch flights from Bournemouth to Sharm and from Gatwick and Manchester to Marsa Matruh, a newish resort on the Mediterranean coast.
Thomson is also adding new services to Marrakech in Morocco from Gatwick and Manchester while Ryanair will fly to Fez from Stansted from May 3, replacing its service out of Luton.
Thomson will fly to Monastir in Tunisia from Bournemouth, Cardiff, Doncaster, Glasgow and Stansted. Meanwhile Thomas Cook Airlines is launching flights to Monastir from Aberdeen, Cardiff, Exeter and Edinburgh.
